Prather Productions is a company consisting of two professional year-round dinner theatres and a national tour company. The dinner theatres feature Broadway-style musicals and comedies combined with a dinner buffet. Children’s Theatre and concerts are also featured throughout the season.

Prather Productions’ national tour division tours one non-Equity musical tour each year.

Dutch Apple located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and only three hours from New York City with accessibility by train or car and one hour to Baltimore.

Broadway Palm in Ft Myers, Florida is near Fort Myers Beach and beautiful Sanibel Island. For water sports enthusiasts or Sun Gods, it’s a paradise.


Our actors are all professionals, most of them having college degrees in Theatre Performance, Musical Theatre, Dance and other Performing Arts categories and are selected at national auditions each year.

  • Rehearsals begin 14 days prior to the Opening Date.
  • 8-10 Performances per week.
  • Multiple show contracts available with the same or different theatres. When national tours are scheduled for our productions, a tour contract will be issued.
  • Contract includes housing, meal on show days, health club membership and transportation.

Main Stage Productions

If you are an adult performer 8 – 10 shows per week.

  • Evening performances are Tue – Sat, (6:55pm call time) 7:30pm performance
  • Twilight performances are Sunday, (6:25pm call time) 7:00pm performance
  • Matinee performances generally occur on Tue, Wed, Thurs, Sat, and Sun. (12:40pm call time) 1:15pm performance

If you are a youth performer we double cast our youth roles in the Main Stage shows to help alleviate the demand of a full show schedule. Actors will perform in 4 – 5 shows per week, which will include matinee performances. There will be a few days that will require you to be dismissed from school early for the rehearsals and the performances (If cast we will provide you with the school clearance papers that are required).

Children’s Theatre Productions

Roles are usually not double cast for this series. Actors will perform in 2 – 5 shows a week.

  • Morning performances are Tue – Fri (10:55am call time) 11:30am performance
  • Matinee performances are Tue – Sun (12:10pm call time) 12:45pm performance
  • Evening performances are (5:55pm call time) 6:30pm performance

Upcoming Auditions


Casting for the role of Annie (Cover) and the 8 Orphans (Girls need to play age ranges from 7- 14 years old). All roles will be double cast.

Annie rehearses everyday June 10 – 26th and the production runs June 27- Aug 10th.

Auditions will be held Sunday, March 31st from 9 – 2 PM at the Prather Productions, 21 Prestige Lane, Lancaster, PA by Appointment ONLY. Please email for an appointment.

All youth actors must be local or have housing in the Lancaster County area.

We will see approximately groups of 12 every half hour.

All must sing from the show. Sections from “Maybe” and “Tomorrow”. Materials will be available online. No other songs will be permitted at the audition. An Accompanist will be provided to play both songs.

After the singing audition, some will be called back to dance in the afternoon. Please allow time for the audition process. After the dance audition you may receive a callback notice for a 2nd audition. These callbacks will be held Sat April 13, 10am.  We will sing again and read for all roles.

Callbacks for ensemble roles will be Wednesday, April 17 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Times TBA)
Callbacks for GIRL and GUY will be Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m.

Seeking actor/musicians who can also act and sing. ONCE was the Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Based on the 2006 movie.

Bring a short folk/rock song in the style of the show 16 bars. You may  accompany yourself on the instrument(s) that you are most proficient. There will be a keyboard in the room and an accompanist provided if needed. Actors must bring their own instrument(s) that they intend to play at this audition.

Instruments needed in ONCE:  Piano, guitar, violin, cello, double bass, electric bass, mandolin, ukulele, accordion, banjo, harmonica and drums/percussion. Please see the character breakdown here to see which characters play these instruments.  Actors should be proficient for each instrument they are playing. GIRL must play the piano. GUY must be an excellent guitar player.

ONCE Rehearses and performs in Fort Myers, FL at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre from August 8 – September 28, 2019. (6 week run)

ONCE Tech Rehearsals for the National Tour at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, Ft Myers, FL from September 29 – October 6, 2019.

ONCE National tour October 9 – March 29, 2020. (18 week bus and truck)

Contracts for the FL sit down at Broadway Palm include housing, meals on performance days, round-trip transportation, health club membership, direct deposit, comp tickets and professional weekly salary.

Contracts for the bus and truck National Tour portion include housing (Hotels), per diem, round-trip transportation and professional weekly salary.
