Summer 2020 Broadway Bound Camps
Broadway Bound! camps are providing young actors the opportunity to participate in a theatrical experience which will develop confidence, responsibility and teamwork. Participants in our classes build self-esteem as they refine their creativity, active listening, and concentration skills all while learning about musical theatre. This year will be providing a Zoom camp for our younger sessions to provide the opportunity to participate in a theatrical experience in the comfort of their own home.
For our older students the traditional in-person camp with limited class numbers and compliance to the CDC guidelines. Both sessions will help build self-esteem as students refine their creativity, active listening, and concentration skills all while learning about musical theatre. All students will receive t-shirts. The younger Zoom Sessions will also receive a bag with materials for performance numbers and making crafts. Bags will need to be picked up from the theatre on designated date and time prior to your week’s session.
Broadway Bound! teaching artists are theatre professionals – actors, designers and directors – who teach under the leadership of Lauren Sobon, Dutch Apple Artistic Producer and Dean Sobon, National Tour Director. Professional performers Katelyn Candiello (national tour of The Wizard of Oz, 2017- 2019) and Alyssa Crook (Senior Performing Arts student at Muhlenberg College) serve as camp administrators and counselors.
*Please note most of our previous participants will take each session at least 2 – 3 times before moving up to the next level. Every summer the student’s performance material is new to reinforce their skills without becoming repetitive.
