MEET THE DIRECTOR

Ray Dumont (Director/Choreographer) – Ray is honored to have the opportunity to stage A Chorus Line for the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. This is his first production here, and he is eternally grateful to Dutch Apple for making him feel so supported and encouraged.

He had the good fortune of playing Mike in A Chorus Line back in 1997, under the direction of the great Mitzi Hamilton. He has been in professional theatre for over 30 years. As an actor, Ray has performed all over the country in such shows as Cabaret, Anything Goes, Dames At Sea, The Producers, and of course his favorite, A Chorus Line. As a Director/Choreographer, Ray has directed Rent, Into The Woods, Cabaret, Grey Gardens, Bye Bye Birdie, Tommy, and Shrek, to name a few. Ray is currently the Executive Director of The Public Theatre in Maine. He also held leadership positions over the years at Maine State Music Theatre and Children’s Theatre of Maine.

Ray is forever thankful for being a small part of A Chorus Line’s 50-year legacy and for the chance to “pass it on” to the ridiculously talented Dutch Apple company. Above all, he is grateful for the constant support he gets from his fiancé, Joshua Bellamy (also Larry and Associate Choreographer for this production!). Life means more with you in it.
