Broadway Bound Year Round!
This fall, Broadway Bound offers young performers an exciting opportunity to grow through focused theatre training! Each Saturday, students will dive into a different aspect of musical theatre (acting, singing, dancing, stage combat, and more!) building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Whether you take one class – or all of them – you’ll refine your skills and reconnect with theatre friends while continuing your Broadway Bound journey. Don’t miss out on this fun, educational experience!

Class Descriptions
10/04 - Acting a Song (10 and up)
Learn how to bring your songs to life by connecting to the lyrics, making strong acting choices, and telling a story through music. A must for every musical theatre performer!
11/22 - Yes … AND! (10 and up)
Strengthen your creativity, spontaneity, and teamwork through improv games and scenes. This fun, high-energy class will sharpen your instincts and boost your stage presence.
10/11 - The Music and the Mirror (10 and up)
Join cast members from our production of “A Chorus Line” to learn the original Broadway choreography to numbers like “One” and the iconic audition sequence!
12/06 - & 5, 6, 7, 8! (10 and up)
You’ve got 8 counts to impress. Make them count! Work with an award-winning choreographer to learn how to quickly pick up audition choreography. Whether you’re a trained dancer or just starting out, this session is all about confidence, style, and booking that role.
10/18 - I Hope I Get It! (10 and up)
Master the audition process! From slating and self-tapes to sides, cold reads, and song cuts. Plus tips on resumes, headshots, your audition book, and standing out in the room (or on the screen)!
12/13 - Power Belt! (10 and up)
Join a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts to learn the foundations of safe, strong belting technique. Hit those powerhouse notes without strain!
11/08 - The Rumble (12 and up)
Learn the basics of stage combat with a professional trained by the Society of American Fight Directors. From punches and kicks to falls and rolls, you’ll build safe, dynamic fight skills — then put it all together by learning part of the iconic rumble from “The Outsiders”.
12/20 - It’s Hard to be the Bard (10 and up)
Explore the excitement and drama hidden in Shakespeare’s words! This interactive class helps you understand the language, speak with confidence, and bring characters to life with confidence! It’s not “boring” or “hard” when you have the right tools!
11/15 - Let’s Talk About Dialects (8 and up)
Master essential dialect skills to elevate your acting. This workshop teaches you how to listen to, break down, and perform accents ranging from British RP to Southern to Australian!
Meet the Instructors!
Katelyn Candiello (Music Instructor)
Katelyn grew up in the Lancaster area and has been working for Dutch Apple since 2007! She has been a teacher at Broadway Bound since 2010. She studied at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She went on to tour with the company in The Wizard of Oz for two years, then assisted the international remount of the production as it went to China, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. When she is not performing, she is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Manheim Township School District. Katelyn has a passion for sharing her knowledge and inspiring students to have confidence in themselves, learn how to work as a team, and to hone their theatre skills.
Alyssa Crook (Acting Instructor)
Alyssa is Lancaster born and raised. Alyssa began as a youth counselor for Broadway Bound in 2012 and has been with the program ever since! Alyssa attended Muhlenberg College where she earned a double major in Theatre and English Alyssa is Lancaster born and raised. Alyssa attended Muhlenberg College where she earned a double major in Theatre and English Literature, and is currently enrolled at Millersville University to earn her Secondary English Education certificate. Alyssa’s specialties include stage combat, stunts, comedy, and Shakespeare. She first learned stage combat under Fight Master Michael G. Chin, with her introductions to Rapier & Dagger, Broadsword, and Knife. Alyssa also enjoys writing when she is not on stage — she is a professional playwright, with some of her scripts having appeared on local stages!
Kayla Hall (Dance Instructor)
Kayla fell in love with theatre when she attended Dutch Apple’s camp in 2005 and has performed here ever since! Favorites include: National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof, Music Man, & Peter Pan. She has been a Broadway Bound instructor since 2016 and choreographs Dutch Apple’s Children’s Shows (Descendants, HSM Jr., Legally Blonde Jr., SpongeBob Youth Edition, and Frozen Jr.). Kayla is a teacher in the School District of Lancaster and choreographs McCaskey’s musicals. She earned her Master’s of Education in Theatre Pedagogy. Kayla is dedicated to sharing her passion for theatre and inspiring creativity within her students.
Piper Sobon (Dance Instructor)
Piper is a local performer having appeared on the stages of the Dutch Apple, Fulton Theatre, and American Music Theatre. She was last seen on the Dutch Apple Stage as Anna in Disney’s Frozen Jr and as the Dance Ensemble in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. A recent graduate of Warwick High School, Piper has been a Broadway Bound instructor for the last several years. A competition dancer (and judge) herself, Piper enjoys teaching dance to aspiring performers.
